FIRE ripped through a barn yesterday (Thursday, August 13) when arsonists struck in Walberton.
The single-storey building, in Yapton Lane, contained 10 tonnes of baled straw and refuse, and was set alight at around 7pm.

Twenty per cent was damaged by fire, and the rest by heat and smoke.

Fire crews from Shoreham spent just under two hours extinguishing the flames, and a mechanical digger was used to turn over and damp down the affected area.
