'Gorilla' Dave's charity run

A LOXWOOD man will give the expression 'monkeying around' a new meaning when he takes part in a seven mile charity run dressed in a gorilla suit.
David Hockley will join 1,000 people going ape for the day dressed as gorillas in the London Great Gorilla Run on September 27.
The charity co-ordinating the run, The Gorilla Organisation, has asked that each person raise £400 to help protect endangered gorillas, but David is ambitiously planning to achieve ten times that and raise £4,000 for his race.
Running for seven miles in a heavy gorilla suit is hard enough for anyone, but David, or 'Dave the gorilla', admits sporting endeavour has never been his strength and therefore completing the run would also be a huge personal achievement.
"I've never been a particularly fit person so it's nice to do something which will be a change," said David, who is being sponsored by organic hair salon OOMOO in Storrington.
