POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to talk to in connection with an allegation of indecent exposure on a train in Burgess Hill.

A woman was travelling on a train from Victoria to Littlehampton on July 23 when she reportedly saw a man involved in a sex act while sat next to her.

British Transport Police PC Paul Gardener said: "As the train was travelling through Burgess Hill, the woman noticed the man was holding a newspaper in an odd manner. When she stood up, she noticed the man had exposed himself and was behaving indecently.

PC Gardener said police had retrieved CCTV from the train and were eager to speak to the man in the CCTV stills as part of their inquiry.

Police are appealing to anyone who can identify the man in the still images to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or the Witness Appeal Line on 0207 391 5275 quoting background log B3 of 18/8/08.
