Burwash

Party: The weather held fair for the latest Party on The Green. A small gathering of people got together to celebrate VE day on the Green at Stand Meadow/Hornbeam. It was a friendly affair with people enjoying each others company with plenty of banter and debates. Well done to The Cheshire family they laid on a delicious barbecue and salads. Barry Taylor tested out his new game, which it was agreed would be a great crowd puller at the August bank holiday fair. Well done Rod Clifton for the idea.

Trip: Last Friday/Saturday the Burwash Branch of the Royal British Legion organised a Pilgrimage to Aubers Ridge in France, visiting men from our villages memorials. I have been told this was an excellent trip, very moving to see the row upon row of war graves. The journey and accommodation were very pleasant and the whole event very enjoyable and memorable.

NSPCC Games: You are all invited to come along and join us at the Bear Motel for an afternoon of board games today. The event is being organised by Rod Clifton and Mary Taylor from 4pm to 7pm. Why not pick the children up from school and come in entry is £5 for adults and children by donation. Light refreshments will be available free and a raffle will also be held. We have games of all description for your amusement. All money raised will go the NSPCC to help them continue to protect those children who are vulnerable and in need. Call Mary 0n 01435 882107 for further information. Please do come along and support our event.
