THE committee of Southlanders would like to thank all exhibitors and visitors to the community fayre (above) on Parklands open space, Wilmot Road, Shoreham, on August 9.
It is very uplifting to any person who gives up their spare time to volunteer in the community when, despite the weather, which on that day would have been more at home in November than August, their hard work is recognised by the stalwart support of the great British public who are prepared to turn out and support such an event as our fayre.

As a postscript to the event, the committee is investigating the possibility of rearranging the "Lady and Tramp" dog show to a date later in the year and this is as a direct result of the nearly 20 dog owners who braved the rain to showcase the various talents of their "four-legged friends".
