With both councils being run by a single chief executive and a small team of directo
rs, what is the future for Adur?
Adur now shares the same computer system with two other bordering councils organising housing benefits and council tax payment.
Over the past few years some management, and non-management, staff have left and have not been replaced.
Adur District Council is one of the smallest councils in the country.
Do recent events mean that, eventually, Adur will be absorbed under possibly Worthing control and the valuable land on which the Civic Centre stands, plus its large car park, adjacent to the railway, will be sold off for more housing development?
