WORTHING RAIDERS Rugby Club suffered their eighth National League Division 3 South defeat of the season on Saturday against high-flying Rosslyn Park, 41-7.
After Rosslyn Park started brightly, Raiders were denied the opening score when Park's James Strong brilliantly tackled Matt Farnes.
Worthing's Ben Coulson then missed a penalty attempt before two converted Rosslyn tries moved the visitors 14-0 ah
ead.
Coulson then missed another penalty before Worthing debutant, Polish international Kacper Lawski broke clear and passed to Farnes, who went over.
Coulson kicked the conversion to make it 14-7, but Park moved 24-7 by half-time.
Park captain Rob Jewell touched down Park's fifth try of the game early in the second half, before Dougie Rodman's try and Rhys Gosling's conversion made it 36-7 on 53 minutes.
That was the way things stayed until Rodman touched down Rosslyn's seventh try with the last play of the game.
Worthing director of rugby Ian Davies said: "They weren't 30 points better than us, but we just lacked a little bit of belief.
"They were probably 10-to-15 points better but we made mistakes and they made us suffer.
"We were really competitive in the first half, and we've just got to keep building.
"Rob Smith was outstanding and was my man of the match. Joe Govett also played well, as did Ryan Storer."
