Rock-a-Nore roll on at top of East Sussex League

Robertsbridge United's first team game away to Battle Town in the Premier Division and second team clash at home to Bexhill AAC II in Division Three were both called-off. But the rest of the matchday three programme went ahead and Rock-a-Nore retained their two-point advantage at the top-flight summit following a 2-1 win away to St Leonards Social. Reece Johnson and Jack Franklin were the scorers as the Rocks - who played in Division One last season - made it three Premier Division victories out of three. Zac Olujobi netted a first-half equaliser for Social, who were back in action after sitting out the previous weekend as a Covid-related precaution. Second-placed Hawkhurst United made it seven points from a possible nine by winning 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at home to Northiam 75. Strikes by Charlie Bates, Jason Donoghue, Kieran Eland and Jordan Willett won it for the Hawks as the goals of Joe Millar, Adam Page and a 35-yarder from Luke Townsend couldn't prevent Northiam suffering their first loss of the campaign. Wadhurst United are up to third in the early table after coming from behind to triumph 3-1 away to Crowhurst. Ashley Kidman scored for the Crows, who are one of five teams on three points. One of the others is Punnetts Town, who picked up their first points at the second attempt by winning 2-1 away to Bexhill Town. Bexhill led for much of the game thanks to an Aaron Cochrane goal, but strikes by Louis Walder and Stevie Worsell swung the pendulum in favour of Punnetts. Bexhill AAC and Sedlescombe Rangers II remain level on points at the top of Division One after both sides dropped their first points of the season. AAC still have the edge by one goal on goal difference following a 1-1 draw at home to Battle Town II. Louis Hopper scored for AAC against a Battle team which claimed its first point of the campaign thanks to a George Rayner goal. Sedlescombe also lost their 100 percent record but are still unbeaten following a 3-3 draw at home to Sidley United II. Josh Pool and Isaac Perrin were among the scorers for Sedlescombe, while goals from Sam Knight, Chris Copley and Dave Chasumba earned Sidley their second draw in three outings. The second tier's other two games were rather more decisive. The JC Tackleway are third - just a point behind the top two - on the back of a 5-0 win away to Victoria Baptists. Rye Town opened their account at the second time of asking with a 4-0 success at home to Peche Hill Select. Tom Barlow, Luke Willis and Rob Levett were among the scorers for Rye. Little Common II and Bexhill Rovers both recorded their third wins out of three in Division Two. Common continue to lead the table on goal difference after winning 4-1 away to Westfield II. Attilio Field bagged a brace, and Nickolas Kavanagh and Connor Morton netted once each for Common, while Jay Edwards struck for Westfield. Rovers preserved their 100 percent record courtesy of a 6-2 triumph away to Northiam 75 II. Casey Ham blasted a hat-trick, Iain Stewart-Pownall notched twice and Neal Blackham also netted for Rovers. Stuart Galbraith and Kelvin Lowes replied for Northiam. Catsfield are third after a 3-1 home win against St Leonards Social II, who were playing their first match of the new term. A Jacob Jones double and one from Tom Andrew took Catsfield's points tally to four from two encounters. SC Pass + Move chalked up the biggest victory of anybody across the six divisions with an 8-0 success at home to Mountfield United. Jonjo Wright plundered a hat-trick, Frazer Discala and Ross Williams scored twice each, and Tom Cusden got the other for a Pass + Move team which had lost its one previous fixture this season. League new boys Peche Hill Select II gained their first points at the second attempt, winning 4-0 at home to previously unbeaten Herstmonceux. Sandhurst took full advantage of Bexhill AAC II's postponement to open up a three-point cushion at the summit of Division Three. James Found's hat-trick and one from James Hsuan fired the Kent outfit to a 4-1 victory away to Hastings United Youth - their third win from as many contests. Rhys Morfee was the scorer for the Hastings youngsters in their second successive defeat. AFC Hollington moved up to second - above AAC on goal difference having played once more - with a 4-2 triumph away to Old Town Lions. William Spice and Lewis Wade struck for the Lions, who had won their sole previous match 7-2. Hampden Park got off the mark for the season by winning 2-1 at home to Hawkhurst United II. Strikes by Jake Barker and Christian Puttock for Hampden Park just eclipsed that of Thomas Allen for the Hawks. Icklesham Casuals stretched their lead in Division Four to three points after extending their winning start to three matches. Goals from Sean Baker and Joe Fraser earned Icklesham a 2-1 victory away to Battle Town III, for whom Jack Travena found the net. Welcroft Park Rangers moved up to second on the back of a 4-2 success away to Hooe. Jamie Bundy's double, and one apiece from Cameron Offord and Kieran Apps took Welcroft Park up to six points from three outings. The goals of Aidan Pierce and Steve Payne couldn't prevent Hooe's run of 18 competitive games without defeat coming to an end. Sovereign Saints II are third following a 3-3 draw away to Orington - both teams' second draw in three encounters. Strikes by Travis Anderson, Chris Williams and David Wisdom for Saints were matched by Ashley Jamieson's brace and an Aaron Lillycrop goal for Orington. Parkfield achieved their first victory of 2020/21 in fine style with a 7-2 triumph away to West Hill United. A Timothy Tockas hat-trick, Aaron French double, and one each by Tiago Constancio and Fabio Oliveira did the damage for Parkfield. Magham Down made a victorious start to their season, winning 3-1 at home to Sedlescombe Rangers development. Two William Napier-Brown goals and one from Dashielle Bourne got Magham up and running straight away. Ben Sebbage struck for Sedlescombe. Three teams are separated by a solitary point at the top of Division Five. AFC Hollington II hold a narrow advantage on goal difference following their 6-1 win away to Ticehurst, whose consolation was bagged by Guy Ballard. Wadhurst United II also have seven points from a possible nine after their 3-0 success at home to Hampden Park u23s. A point back in third are Hastings Comets, who prevailed 2-0 at home to West Hill United II via the finishing of Kurt Foster and Brandon Smith. Herstmonceux II claimed their first points at the third attempt by dint of a 3-2 triumph at home to Welcroft Park Rangers II, meaning the bottom five teams all have three points. The goals of Robbie Hodgson, Todd Seavers and Curtis Eyres for Herstmonceux meant that Jonathan Brettany's brace wasn't quite enough for Welcroft Park.
