Dunlop’s first success came when Durcan guided 3/1 second favourite Harlestone Times to victory in the second, and the pair followed up with 2/1 favourite Anton Dolin in the sixth. Durcan ended a memorable personal day by riding Walter Swinburn-trained Perfect Pastime (9/2) first past the post in the last. There was no delight for Dunlop in the feature race, the Festival Stakes, which was won by the Brian Meehan-trained 6/1 shot City Leader, ridden by Martin Dwyer.
